Genuine Life Lessons From Miles’ Podcasts (God Friended Me) — Part 4 of 4

So we’ve finally reached the end, just like the show did. Majority of the episodes you are going to read here did not have Miles’ ‘monologue ending’, but they were so good, it felt wrong to exclude them from this list. Hence I wrote the message of each episode myself. Frankly speaking, I didn’t want to include the finale episode here as a sign of my protest against the unsatisfying ending, but I chose otherwise. The finale was abrupt, but it was nevertheless quite beautiful. Thanks for reading these posts. Links to other posts in this series can be found at the end of this one. 😇

S2E11 : A New Hope

It took 75 years for Abe to get his answers, but he never gave up. Neither should you. The idea of waiting to find our answers scares us, but some things are worth the risk, no matter the odds.

S2E12 : BFF

Friendship is the foundation of many strong relationships. The beauty of these relationships is not the fact they are hard to break, but that if broken, they can be rebuilt. And who knows? The scars of the past may strengthen the bonds of the present, strengthen the friendship which we sometimes forget was there all along.

S2E13 : The Princess and the Hacker

Hope is all that we have got sometimes. We don’t know for sure. But we have to trust. We owe it to ourselves to allow the heart to have hope because there is nothing to lose whichever way we may go from where we stand now. Even if our hope fails us, we will have the courage to move on.

S2E14 : Raspberry Pie

Sometimes in life, we get stuck in a situation where it’s not about giving up but coming to terms with the facts. Because if we don’t, we lose the chance of sharing our time and love with people who deserve it.

S2E15 : The Last Little Thing

Life’s too short to be afraid of anything. Being angry is just easier than facing the truth of what has happened. Sometimes it’s the simple things which are the most profound reminders of what’s important, like love, that can heal the past, and give us hope for the future. Or family, knowing no matter what happens, we don’t have to fight alone, because faith isn’t just about religion, it’s about realizing we are all in this together. It’s easy to forget how connected we all are, it’s easy to feel scared or lost, or angry, but that’s not the same thing as losing faith. And sometimes it takes meeting someone new to remind us of that it’s never too late to find the faith we’ve lost.

S2E16 : The Atheist Papers

Change can be terrifying, but that’s what real love does. And that’s okay. Because when you open your heart to love, you allow it to experience something totally new and exciting, and go on a journey of self discovery, of who you are capable of being.

S2E17 : Harlem Cinema House

Forgiveness is one of the biggest tools our heart possesses. Moving over what has been lost, for the sake of something that you care about now is all forgiveness is about. It’s not easy, but it’s all about replacing old and painful memories with new and cherishable ones.

S2E18 : Almost Famous

There are decisions that are thrust upon us, and decisions we choose to make. They are not always easy, but the good thing is that they can always be changed. And when you can, you try to tip the scales to go your way. But thankfully, it’s the people in your life who are there to pick you up, to make sure you are never alone

S2E19 : The Fugitive

We never know where we might find a family, which had already existed, or which we created with our love and trust. Either way, we have a bunch of people to whom we can turn to whenever we need them, and that is a feeling that comforts us more than anything.

S2E20 : Collateral Damage

Sometimes our love is not reciprocated in ways we had expected. It’s different, and we don’t know how to name that feeling. Maybe we don’t need to. Love can be found in many unexpected places, and in many different forms, and we should be ready to accept it as it is. What we’re looking for will be found somewhere else or sometime later, and being honest to our heart, we should always embrace the new opportunities in life.

S2E21 : Miracles

Growing up in the church, I heard a lot about miracles, but tonight, I actually saw one. Now I am not talking about a burning bush, or parting the Red Sea, I am talking about the miracles we create ourselves. The miracles we’re able to gift one another that are able to change lives in a profound way. It can give us the closure we’ve always been looking for. In today’s world, we see technology as a modern-day miracle, but only when we use it to help others, it can become one. When it reconnects us with people we needed to find, to become the person we needed to be. But no matter how hard it is, when we choose to help or listen or forgive one another, those simple acts of kindness can change someone’s life in a way that can only be described as a miracle.

S2E22 : The Mountain

Sometimes, the things we hope for in life don’t always turn out the way we expect. But that doesn’t mean we give up, doesn’t mean we stop fighting, because you never know where that road may lead. To the long-awaited celebration that finally arrives, to the ending of an old chapter that brings us to the next. The journey of helping my friend suggestions changed so many lives. It told me to have hope and faith in humanity, to believe in others, but more importantly, it changed me, and helped me rediscover something I had lost when my mother died. And it made me realize that it doesn’t matter what we believe, or where we come from, that we are all in this together, that we can all be there for one another because when we are, amazing things can happen.
